EQGen Biomedical Named AHNTI US 2026 Biopharma Innovation Showcase Finalist

EQGen Biomedical has been selected as one of three finalists in the Biopharma category of the AHNTI US 2026 Innovation Showcase. EQGen was chosen from what AHNTI described as an applicant pool of exceptional volume and quality.
Grant Senner, MD, DABRM, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, will present EQGen on the main stage in Boston on October 26 before an audience of more than 500 animal-health executives, investors, strategic partners and other industry leaders.
The presentation will introduce EQGen’s proprietary integrin α10β1-selected, off-the-shelf allogeneic mesenchymal stem-cell platform. Its lead investigational program asset is being developed as a potential disease-modifying therapy for equine osteoarthritis, with broader potential across canine and other veterinary musculoskeletal indications.
“This recognition is an important milestone for EQGen and reflects the strength of the science underlying EQSTEM,” said Dr. Senner. “We look forward to presenting our program in Boston and discussing its development and strategic potential with leaders from across the animal-health industry.”
AHNTI US 2026 will take place October 26–28 at The Westin Copley Place in Boston.

Xintela publishes safety and efficacy results from knee osteoarthritis clinical study with XSTEM in scientific journal

The positive results from Xintela’s (XINT) clinical study (Phase I/IIa) on XSTEM for knee osteoarthritis have now been published in the peer-reviewed scientific journal Cartilage. The results show in addition to safety that the XSTEM treatment reduced knee pain, improved joint function and improved cartilage and bone tissue, supporting a disease-modifying effect of XSTEM.

Xintela publication on EQSTEM treatment of horses in a preclinical osteoarthritis study awarded best basic science paper

The results from Xintela’s preclinical EQSTEM® study in horses with post-traumatic osteoarthritis (OA) has previously been published in the scientific journal Cartilage. The results show less pain and less cartilage damage after treatment with the stem cell product EQSTEM, indicating a disease modifying effect of EQSTEM. The publication has now been awarded best basic science paper 2025 by the journal.

Xintela’s stem cell product XSTEM shows safety and sustained positive efficacy results two years after treatment in knee osteoarthritis clinical study

The final analysis including the 24-month evaluation of Xintela’s (XINT) clinical study on XSTEM for knee osteoarthritis has now been completed. The results show continued safety, reduction of knee pain, improved joint function, and improvements in bone and cartilage structure. This confirms a sustained treatment effect in knee osteoarthritis and supports a disease-modifying effect of XSTEM. Xintela has previously communicated positive interim results up to 18 months after treatment of knee osteoarthritis patients with three dose levels of XSTEM. The highest dose level, which showed the best results after 18 months, has now shown sustained positive treatment effects two years after XSTEM treatment.

Xintela and EQGen Biomedical sign collaboration and license agreement for veterinarian stem cell products

Xintela and EQGen Biomedical Inc. (“EQGen”) have signed the definitive collaboration and license agreement, contemplated by their previously announced term sheet, for the development of Xintela’s equine stem cell product EQSTEM® and other animal stem cell products. EQGen gets global rights to Xintela’s stem cell technology for the treatment of veterinary musculoskeletal indications. Xintela and EQGen Biomedical will collaborate on product and process development as well as regulatory, clinical and commercial development of EQSTEM, initially for the treatment of joint diseases in horses.
